At Swamp Witch Farms we distill many of the flowers and plants that we grow into hydrosols for their natural medicinal properties. Hydrosols have astringent, antibacterial and soothing properties that make them fantastic as facial toners and natural deodorants. Hydrosols are the "plant or flower" water that comes from steaming them when they are freshly harvested. This is not the same as essential oils. Essential oils are derived when you distill the plants in their dry state and for their aromatherapy properties. But hydrosols are where all the good stuff is!!! While you might smell a hint of the plant or flower, they are not strong smelling and often do not smell at all the way you think they will!! But....they never smell bad!!!
Basil hyrdrosol is hydrating, serves as a wonderful skin toner and helps balance the skin.
